BEYOND THE CLASSROOM
Beyond the classroom, we offer extensive academic enrichment opportunities to fuel pupils’ love of learning.
Our wide array of academic Clubs and Activities includes Cryptic Puzzle Solving, Egyptology, Linguistics Club and Brighton Ink, our school magazine. We also have the Sustainability Club, where pupils develop a sense of environmental responsibility.
Pupils can participate in academic competitions such as the Linguistic Olympiad to Young Musician of the Year, F1 in Schools, and the UK Mathematics Challenges, providing opportunities to apply their knowledge in global contexts and test their skills against peers internationally.
The Performing Arts are central to our educational philosophy, offering pupils a platform for self-expression, personal growth and artistic exploration. Whether through music, drama or dance, our programme fosters confidence, creativity, and collaboration—skills that extend far beyond the stage into all areas of life.
Our Creative Arts programme empowers pupils to explore various artistic disciplines, from Visual Arts to Design and Technology. Pupils engage in hands-on activities, developing their critical thinking and personal identity while complementing the academic curriculum. This vibrant environment enhances their overall educational experience.
We are proud to champion Sport for All, understanding the vital role physical activity plays in the development of every pupil. Our state-of-the-art facilities and dedicated coaching team provide an array of sporting opportunities, allowing all pupils, regardless of experience or ability, to explore and enjoy a range of sports. For those with aspirations to excel, we offer tailored pathways to help them reach their full potential.
A highlight of our sporting calendar is the Brighton Games in Thailand. Year 7 to 9 pupils join their peers from Brighton College schools worldwide to compete in a variety of sports, including athletics, football, basketball, netball, and swimming. This six-day event also features a cultural excursion to the Grand Palace and a scenic boat tour along the Chao Phraya River, offering pupils a unique blend of competition and cultural enrichment.
With more than 100 Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) offered throughout the College, we ensure opportunities for every pupil to participate in the vibrant life of the College. Whether they are discovering new talents or refining existing ones, our CCAs foster creativity, collaboration, and leadership.
Our pupils embark on enriching excursions that bring their academic studies to life, fostering curiosity and deeper connections with the world around them. This term, Year 9 explored Shakespeare’s Macbeth at Victoria Theatre in preparation for their upcoming study of the play. A visit to the Singapore City Gallery engaged Years 7-9 in sustainable settlement planning, linking to geography and history themes. Year 9 also visited Zookeeper, a renowned vivarium design company, to enhance their biodiversity studies through hands-on experience.
Future trips include an interdisciplinary exploration of species classification and art at the Singapore Zoo for Years 7-8 and a Battlefield Tour at Kranji Memorial for Years 7-9, deepening their understanding of history and heritage.
These experiences enrich learning and inspire our pupils to think critically and creatively about the world.
The best way to experience what life is like at Brighton College (Singapore) is to join us at an Open House, where you will have the chance to talk to pupils and teachers about what makes our school such a special place, and to answer any questions you have about life here.
