Nicoletta Veronese

Nicoletta was born and raised in Chioggia a seaside town part of Venice islands, Italy. Since a very young age two main factors have shaped her character: sports and foreign languages. Nicoletta started playing indoor volleyball when still in primary school, and she became a professional player during her early teenage years. This was such a formative experience that has taught her the importance of resilience and perseverance. Another equally important aspect of her formative years lies on her interest towards foreign languages, prompting Nicoletta to learn a range of languages throughout her education, so much so that now Nicoletta can communicate in six languages at a different level of fluency. During her teenage years and early adulthood, Nicoletta enjoyed speaking these languages while travelling around Europe and exploring different uses and customs. On top of her travelling, she has lived in Barcelona and then settled in Brighton- UK- where she has been teaching MFL for 14 years.

Following her BA degree in linguistics from the University of Venice and her MA in International Communication from the University of Bologna, Nicoletta worked as a translator for a couple of years in Bologna. However, her real fulfilment came when she completed her PGCE and trained as a teacher at the University of Sussex. Soon after completing her course, Nicoletta has been teaching Spanish, French, German and Italian to 11-18-year-old students at Reigate Grammar and Lewes Old Grammar school, where she has also enjoyed being the Head of the Spanish Department. Being a teacher and working with young generations inspires her every day and Nicoletta enjoys teaching them the love and passion for speaking a different language. Nicoletta takes great pride in seeing them become successful learners as well as happy and well-rounded young adults when they leave for their future endeavours. It is a job that Nicoletta would not change for anything else in the world.
