Oliver grew up in Manchester and studied Chemistry at Oxford University. He then made a bold move to China to embrace new opportunities. Since then, Oliver has lived in Beijing, Shanghai, and Taipei, initially working in the chemical industry before transitioning into teaching. He holds a deep passion for all things marine science and is an avid diver. Languages are also a hobby for him, and he eagerly anticipates continuing these interests in Singapore.
Oliver, who has experience teaching all three sciences, is particularly passionate about chemistry. He arrives from Taipei European School, previously serving as the Head of Science in Shanghai.
Oliver enjoys getting pupils hands-on in science through daily experimental work and encouraging them to take on longer projects as their skills develop. In the past, his pupils have built marshmallow wave machines, synthesized their glues and inks, designed innovative ‘rapid open’ parachutes, and joined cutting-edge research groups in small-molecule activation.
